Objective
The student is acquainted with the Finnish legal system, the most important legal concepts and the process of concluding an agreement.
After completing the course, the student
- is able to solve simple cases and has learned analytical thinking
- is able to search for legal information from various sources
- masters key legal concepts
- has the capacity to act as a contractor
- he is able to draw up agreements which are not burdened, for example, by problems of interpretation
- he understands the legal status of the debtor and the legal significance of the guarantee and pledge.

Assessment criteria, satisfactory (1)
The student has carried out work and participated as instructed. The student can name and explain at least some of the Finnish judicial system.
Assessment criteria, good (3)
The student has completed the given tasks / sections well and actively participated in the course. The student is able to name and explain the main themes of the Finnish legal system. He is familiar with the provisions of the Law on the conclusion of a contract and has a good understanding of the role of the parties in both consumer and business-to-business trade. The student is able to apply the laws in practice at a good level.
Assessment criteria, excellent (5)
The student has completed the given assignments/sections commendably and has actively and constructively participated in the course. The student is able to name and explain the main themes of the Finnish legal system. He/she has an excellent knowledge of the provisions of the law relating to the conclusion of a contract and is able to compare and understand the rights and obligations of the parties to the contract in both consumer and business-to-business transactions. The student is excellent at applying laws in practice.
